Ashley Fox celebrates Somerset Day in Highbridge, meeting residents at a local fair.
Somerset Day is celebrated annually over the second weekend in May. It marks Alfred the Great’s call to arms and the gathering of ‘all the people of Somerset’ to march against the invading Viking army, and is now an annual opportunity to celebrate all that is “great” about Somerset and its residents and communities.
Ashely Fox said, "I was pleased to visit Morland Community Hub in Highbridge today for their Somerset Day fair with Cllr Roger Keen. It was good to meet Mandy Ellis from Somewhere House Somerset who explained the good work they do in our community. And thank you Sam from Sam’s Fudge-Somerset for your delicious fudge!".
